What is CanPowerSkate’s Pre-power?
CanPowerSkate’s Pre-Power is designed for young skaters, approximately four to six years of age( or older) who can stand up on skates, move forward and working on backwards skating but may not be ready for CanPowerSkate Level 1. Pre-Power helps develop basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills. The curriculum is presented in three progressive levels complete with its own awards to encourage participation and motivate skaters.
When is CanPowerSkate Pre-power?
Tuesdays 6:10pm-6:55pm
The season runs from October to March break. We have half season, full season, and punch card options available for registration.
Who’s it for?
CanPowerSkate Pre-power is geared to skaters aged approximately six or older who already have basic forward and backward skating skills.
Who teaches it?
NCCP-trained professional coaches, assisted by trained program assistants. Only Skate Canada member Coaches trained and certified at a CanPowerSkate Coaches Course are qualified to instruct the CanPowerSkate program.
What will you learn?
The CanPowerSkate – Pre-power program consists of skills divided into six levels, arranged in progressions gradually increasing in complexity. Levels 1 to 3 focus on the fundamentals of skating,

What do you need to participate?
For safety reasons participants must wear CSA approved hockey helmet and full hockey gear.
