Welcome To The West Lincoln Skating Club The West Lincoln Skating Club (WLSC) has been operating since the early 1970's. Located in the Township of West Lincoln, our home arena is in the town of Smithville, Ontario in the Niagara Region. Smithville is a twenty minute country drive from Hamilton, Grimsby and Pelham.
We offer the following skating programs:
CanSkate: Learn to skate program lead by Skate Canada Professional Coaches. Progressive learning in a fun environment. Skill focus: forward & backward skating, stopping, turning, jumping, crosscuts and edges. CSA approved hockey helmets are MANDITORY. Session runs from October 12, 2011 - March 29, 2012: Wednesday 6:10 - 6:55 pm and/or Saturday 10:00-10:45 am. The fee for one day is $325*, two days $425*.
CanSkate fee commencing January 7, 2012: 12 weeks remaining: $230
CanPower: Power skating program geared to hockey lead by Skate Canada Professional Coaches. Skill focus: balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Participants must wear full hockey equipment that is CSA approved. Target skaters: Tyke, Atom and Pee Wee. Session runs from October 15, 2011 - March 24, 2012: Saturday 9:05 -9:50 am. The fee for the session is $300*.
CanPower fee commencing January 7, 2012:10 week program: $210
STAR / Pre Junior: Designed for skaters who have completed the CanSkate program, skaters furtherCan their skills learning the basics of figure skating such as dance, free skate and skating skills. STAR Skate is a group lesson format with Skate Canada Professional Coaches. Skaters must wear figure skates. Skaters may also wish to take private lessons to help speed their progress. STAR skate is a two session per week program to ensure maximum improvement. Session runs from October 11, 2011 - March 27, 2012: Tuesday 6:00 - 6:55 pm AND Saturday 10:45 - 11:45 am. Session fee $500*.
NEW to WLSC: Adult Learn to Skate: Learn to skate program lead by Skate Canada Professional Coaches. Progressive learning in a fun environment. Skill focus: forward & backward skating, stopping, turning, jumping, crosscuts and edges. CSA approved hockey helmets are MANDATORY. Session runs from October 11, 2011 - March 29, 2012: Saturday 10:00-10:45 am. The fee for one day is $325*.NEW to WLSC: Teen / Adult Skate: This session is intended to provide teen (14+) and adult skaters with previous skating experience an opportunity to return to the sport and / or skate on a mature skating session. This is NOT a learn to skate program. Session runs from October 17, 2011 - March 19, 2012: Monday 4:55 - 5:55 pm. The fee for one day is $300*.
Junior and Senior Sessions: Designed for skaters in the Skate Canada Test Program working on preliminary dances, free skate and skills. All Junior and Senior skaters must have private coaching. Advancing to Junior is based upon coaches recommendation. Senior skates must have achieved two of the following levels or be greater than 14 years: Junior Bronze Freeskate, Junior Bronze Dance or Junior Bronze Skills. Junior and Senior sessions are available in multi-day packages as follows: One day $400*, Two days $450*, Three days $550, Four days $650*.
JR / SR Guest Fee $20 per session. Please pay in the Club office and bring a copy of your music if you choose.
* Session fees do not include Skate Canada memberships fees of $35 per skater or the mandatory Skate Canada Lottery Book fundraiser ($40: one book per family). The Skate Canada Lottery Book fundraiser is one of the main fundraisers of Skate Canada. The fee is included in registration. Upon selling the lottery tickets (20 tickets $2 each) the member re-coops the $40 fee. Both Skate Canada and the WLSC earn a portion of much needed revenue from this fundraiser. Payment Terms: Registration total will be divided evenly among two payments. The first dated at registration. The following payments by post dated cheque on the 15th of February 2012. All cheques payable to WLSC. NSF fee $40 and balance in full.
